You’re visiting a What?
My friend phoned me all excited, she had finally booked an appointment with a kinesiologist! Initially I didn’t fully hear what she said, so after she had repeated the statement, I asked “what is a kinesiologist?”
A kinesiologist is a natural therapy practitioner who works with imbalances affecting the emotional, physical, and chemical aspects of a person’s life. This practice, known as Kinesiology, combines ancient Chinese energetic philosophy with modern Western medical knowledge, including musculoskeletal studies, anatomy, and physiology.
According to ancient Chinese belief, balance and harmony depend on the emotional, physical, and chemical aspects of life being in equilibrium. This idea is often represented as the Triad of Health, shown as an equilateral triangle. If one side falls out of balance, it can disrupt the other two and interfere with the body’s natural flow.
This philosophy also teaches that our inner life force, or Chi, is constantly working to maintain homeostasis. In simple terms, the body is always trying to function at its best, even in the face of challenges.
As a natural therapy, kinesiology draws on many ancient Chinese concepts, including meridians, acupressure, Five Element Theory, mind-body connections, and energy pathways. At the same time, practitioners study the body’s organs, systems, muscles, anatomy, and physiology so they can understand how these elements interact.
Using a unique method called muscle monitoring, the kinesiologist identifies blockages, emotional/trauma triggers and possible solutions to move forward.
Quite simply they talk to your arm!
To be continued.
