My very first Newsletter
December 11, 2009
Hi all and welcome to my very first newsletter. As this is very close to Christmas I would also like to wish everyone a very safe and happy festive season.
DEHYDRATION Dehydration is a state where the body loses its water or moisture. It can occur very quickly under many different circumstances. Both the very young and the very elderly are more at risk due to the fact that their respective temperature control processes are not fully functional. Our bodies are made up of 60% water however it is very easy for our bodies to lose that water very quickly. We are often not aware of this happening and then suddenly you feel very faint and clammy at the same time. Water carries the messages around the body and is a fundamental requirement for life. It is the primary component of all bodily fluids including blood, bile, urine, digestive juices, sweat, tears and cerebrospinal fluid. The body depends greatly on water for clarity of thinking, proper mind/body function and overall top performance. It is generally thought that a person requires 6-8 glasses of water per day. As we get older we sometimes feel that we don’t require quite so much fluid, however that is not true. Even though we may not be as active our bodies still utilize the fluid to function normally. Our thermostat like the rest of our body can get tired and not work quite so well, therefore it is very important to take care in the hotter months especially. Always make sure you have adequate ventilation, if you have air-conditioning use it when it is very hot, it doesn’t have to be set at a low temperature 24* is comfortable, wear comfortable clothing ensuring they are not too many tight or restrictive, and most important keep up you fluids. Instead of gulping down the first mouthful of water, savor it and sip it slowly. A good idea for the very first sip of each glass of water hold it in your mouth for just a few seconds so the brain is aware of the hydration coming and can send it to the cells first. If you find it difficult to swallow water ensure that you have some little ice cubes handy and suck on these instead. The more aware you are of your body's desire for water, the less likely you are to become dehydrated. Most importantly remember to replace the fluids you lose.
VIBRATIONAL REMEDIES
As a natural therapist I have a wide and varied "Tool Box" with which to assist with the healing process. One my very favorites are my Shell Essences. Shell Essences are a range of vibrational remedies that are used to assist in re establishing harmony to our bodies. These essences are created from the energy patterns of individual seashells. I would like to share with you one of my favorite ones. "Murex" Murex is a beautiful shell and is all about Wisdom and Warmth, it is a very feminine shell with a strong connection to the mothering nature of us. It is excellent for establishing positive parenting and also good for addressing issues from a time when perhaps the mother was either not there for us, or maybe was full in your face. Again it is about balance and regaining balance. In clinic I often use Murex as a room spray for when I am balancing a child that is very agitated and the mother appears so as well. It assists in settling down the energy so that calmness is achieved.
FAMOUS QUOTES
"To protect yourself from negative influences, whether of your own making, or the result of the activities of negative people around you, recognize that you have WILL-POWER, and put it into constant use, until it builds a wall of immunity against negative influences in your mind" Napoleon Hill, Think and Grow Rich
STRANGE FACTS
Did you know that it takes seventy–two muscles to frown and only 13 muscles to SMILE!
Your nails and hair grow more quickly in summer than winter.
When you were a baby you had 300 bones. As you grew, the smaller bones fused together. When you reach adulthood you will have only 206 bones.
Tiny mites live at the base of your eyelashes! These 0.4 millimetre-long creepy-crawlies have eight stumpy legs, claws and a mouth. They burrow in your eyelash follicles, feeding on dead skin cells. Don't worry though-they don't do you any harm, but if there are too many of them buried in one follicle they could cause your eyelash to fall out. Our eye's aren't powerful enough to see these tiny mites without a microscope.
Thank you for your interest in my newsletter, if there are any subjects you would like discussed or demystified please ask and I will endeavor to assist you. Have a great day.
Cheers
Marney
